Peptides are the proteins found in our body, and your skin needs them!
Peptides are small, fragmented protein compounds composed of short-chain amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. Peptides tell your cells to produce more collagen: one of the major building blocks of the skin. So by applying them directly to your skin, you're telling your body it needs to make more collagen. They are small in nature, giving them the ability to penetrate to the deeper layers of skin.
At Hale Cosmeceuticals, we pride ourselves on our peptide technologies being critical to our ability to improve your Skin Health!!

The second layer of skin, below the epidermis, is the dermis. The dermal matrix consists primarily of collagen and elastin (proteins). When in their normal, healthy state, these proteins keep the skin supple and wrinkle-free. But when they get denatured or cross-linked by pollution, ultraviolet rays, poor nutrition, chemical exposure, and the normal effects of aging, skin can start to sag, wrinkle, and grow thin and dull.
As free radicals and other Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) bond to the proteins, they then attract sugars from the bloodstream, impairing the body’s ability to regenerate collagen and elastin effectively.
In addition to stimulating new collagen production, peptides prevent sugars from bonding with the proteins in the dermis, to protect the remaining collagen as well. This combination allows the regular renewal of collagen and elastin. This makes skin more flexible, sturdier, and smoother. Peptides also reduce the formation of stretch marks and improve lymphatic circulation, which helps to reduce discoloration under the eyes.
Typically in our cosmeceuticals, there are several different types of peptides with differing effects. Signaling peptides, carrier peptides, enzyme-inhibiting peptides, neurotransmitter-inhibiting peptides and antimicrobial peptides. These 5 types of peptides give our products that ‘Pentapeptide’ name and incredible results!
Signal peptides: Increased collagen in the skin improves skin tone and firmness to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The collagen also helps the skin to lock-in and retain moisture.
Carrier peptides: Help to carry nutrients and trace elements important for wound healing. This helps to heal the skin and even skin tones
Enzyme-inhibiting peptides: Reduce enzymatic breakdown of collagen and other skin proteins
Neuro-transmitter peptides: reduces fine lines related to repetitive muscle activity and fatigue
Anti-microbial peptides: Reduces inflammation within the skin
